My Wilderness Life -> pictures from living in the bush

A Kingfisher bird represents abundance and prosperity... there he is keenly watching the water for lunch, then he goes, headfirst into the water for a fish.

I watched this ant draging this wasp over the hot rocks for a foot, then fan out in a circular path for 12-15 inches of reconaissance, come back for the wasp, taking it over the easiest predetermined path, and just keep systematically going towards home with amazing intelligence. The more time I spend in Nature, really observing life into deeper and deeper layers, the more I come to realize that I have become one of Earth’s keepers.

Eagles are known to mate for life with one partner.

At first it is very difficult ot approach a deer, the trick is to live within
their territory long enough until they become curious enough about you,
and they eventually will, they are very curious, cautious and gentle.

Joseph, keeping his eyes and ears open to Nature.

A great blue Heron

Ah nuts, aren’t we the best buddies ever?

I found this stream walking up its mouth from the ocean, after miles and a few hours
I found this natural pool carved in the rock by the water, later I took my son in and we swam in it together on a hot summer day, watching the large trout in the sunlight.

It looks like an angel, though, it is a momma dragonfly laying her eggs
in the stream.

A giant jellyfish, see the crab in the centre, on the jellyfish...

These are not ducks.

Great blue Heron at dusk.

The mountains will always call you home.

A thunderbird in flight.

This is my son Zachary holding a fire salamander, very, very good luck!

Nature is abundant, in her own good timing.

Sacred Eagle feathers I found on the beach with my son, the larger feather is
18 inches in length. We have also found a cougar and bear skull, deer and whale
bones, and an eagle skull, rare and sacred gifts from Nature.

An Eagle fishing at the water
s edge

This is the largest mushroon I have ever seen in the woods, or anywhere
for that matter, it was about 17 inches across, wow!

The ancient, sacred arbutus tree.

A wild rose.

A magnificient mountain view of a Vancouver Island inlet.

Pre sunrise at Bamberton Beach, just before a cougar is spotted nearby.

Midsummer 5 am sunrise from my camper van window,
and it only cost me $14 for the night, today I probably got a better view than Oprah...

Ancient mosses growing up a river than a lucky few may chance upon.

Great Blue Herons are known as great hunters, and have an incredible
hunting patience and stealth, they move so slowly that the fish do not sense them,
then, Swoosh! there goes the fish for breakfast.

Notice the perfect star pattern in a circle, in the centre of the starfish, wow!

My professional little carver, and artist son, having fun making a sculpture of Dad!

... and a pretty good likeness of his Dad, on a good hair day!

A Great blue Heron with a 9-10 foot wingspan.

Heading home.
